The Free Tool to Export Your Data

Data export process overview

To make a data export process easier FlySpeed Data Export provides a convenient wizard-style interface. It allows you to divide all the necessary settings into a few simple steps. Checking for instructions of the wizard you will get your data exported quickly and easily.

1. Selection of data source to export data from.

FlySpeed Data Export is able to extract data from various sources: server and desktop databases, local files (Excel, DBF), as well as from any other source supported by ADO or ODBC technologies. Thus, the first step suggested by the wizard is to choose a type of connection to the data source, and specify the needed connection parameters.

2. Selection of output data format.

FlySpeed Data Export can save extracted data in a variety of formats. To keep on working with the program you should decide what kind of data you want to obtain. This decision depends on actions you are going to carry out with the data, and software tools you have for that.

A spreadsheet format is the most appropriate for analysis of the extracted data; to generate a report you can generate a text document or HTML page for use on the internet; an export into CSV (Comma-separated values) or XML is right for a further programmatic data processing; you can use an export into DBF or MS Access for further work with the data as tables of a local database.

3. Selection of data for extraction.

After connection to a data source, FlySpeed Data Export extracts data structure from the source as tables and views, and produces a list of these objects. At this point your task is to define objects for the extracted data. Apart from the tables and views strictly specified by the data source, you can arrange your own datasets for a data extraction by creation of SQL queries.

The next step allows you to limit the extracted data according to your needs, to sort data and to choose the columns to extract.

4. Specification of data export options.

All the export optiond are divided into 3 categories:
Output format options depend on a specified data format and determine various properties/features of these formats.
Data formatting options determine the needed kind of the extracted data. For example it can be date, time formats, numeric, money, and other data types.
Performance optiond determine technical details of data extraction that can influence data extraction speed along with the speed of a source server operation.

5. Data export.

The last step of the wizard gives a brief review of the specified instructions, and offers to save them for the second use; it also allows running a data export process, and it’s interruption if needed.
